OVERVIEW
One of the largest inner-city parks in the world, Kings Park & Botanic Garden stretches over 400 hectares on the doorstep of Perth’s CBD. Two-thirds of the park remains natural bushland, while the 17-hectare Western Australian Botanic Garden showcases over 3,000 species of the state’s unique flora. With sweeping views of the Swan River and city skyline, cultural landmarks, playgrounds, and bush trails, the park welcomes around six million visitors a year. Entry is free and the park is open all year round.

GETTING HERE
Public Transport: Free CAT buses and regular services stop near park entrances; about 1.5 km walk from Perth CBD.
Driving: Several free car parks within Kings Park, but they fill quickly during weekends and events.
IS IT SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN?
Absolutely. Kings Park offers large open lawns, nature play areas, and dedicated playgrounds. Wide pram-friendly paths and family picnic spots make it an easy day out with kids.
FOOD AND DRINK
Zamia Café is the main dining option inside the park, offering meals and coffee with a view. Several smaller kiosks and food outlets operate seasonally. Visitors can also bring their own food and enjoy the many picnic and BBQ areas.
