Set high in the Blue Mountains, the Blackheath Rhododendron Festival is one of New South Wales’ most beloved spring garden festivals. Each November, the mountain village comes alive with colourful floral displays, lively parades, local markets, and community celebrations. Established in 1953, it’s the longest-running Blue Mountains spring festival, drawing visitors from across Australia to enjoy the beauty of rhododendrons in bloom, fresh mountain air, and a joyful small-town atmosphere.

  • Public Transport: Take the Blue Mountains Line train from Sydney Central to Blackheath Station (approx. 2 hours). The festival is a short walk from the station.

  • Parking: Available throughout the town; allow extra time as it can get busy on parade day.

  • Shuttle Buses: Free shuttle services may operate between key sites such as the Campbell Rhododendron Gardens and the town centre.
